Brenda is a seasoned professional driving transformation in Africa’s food systems. With a background in plant biotechnology and environmental science, she blends analytical expertise with strong facilitation, coalition-building, and leadership skills. She has led initiatives on school feeding, COP-aligned food systems, and nutrition, while supporting farmers through value chain analysis, market access, seed quality, and pre-harvest training.
Brenda has held leadership roles including Senior Manager – Food Systems & Inclusive Growth at Wasafiri Consulting and Implementation Lead at the African Food Fellowship. Her diverse experience spans organizations such as GAIN, One Acre Fund, SNV, HarvestPlus, and Producers Direct.
Driving Transformation Through Writing
Brenda is also a published writer, contributing thought leadership on topics such as gender equality in agriculture. In a recent articles, she emphasized the need for systemic change to address structural inequalities and power dynamics that hinder women’s leadership in the agricultural sector.
